Join Impact Cubed and Leichtag Foundation in aiding those impacted by Hurricane Hilary
Anticipation of the potential damage from Hurricane Hilary was high across our region. In fact, the rain deluge and wind ended up hitting some areas and communities particularly hard, especially in Baja California, Imperial County, and our deserts.
While many areas weathered the storm safely, others are facing the effects of displacement, disruption to transportation, and downed utilities. As our colleagues at Catalyst of San Diego & Imperial Counties so meaningfully captured, “the people, culture, and weather in our region move across the political boundaries of county and country.” (Read Catalyst’s comments on the hurricane’s impact here.)
Response funds at local community foundations are directing resources to repair and rebound.

- International Community Foundation’s (ICF) Baja California Disaster Relief Fund – ICF’s partners throughout on the Baja peninsula have quickly activated to provide immediate food, water and hygiene supplies, and are working with community members to support rebuilding. Communities hardest hit include Santa Rosalia on the Gulf of California, which experienced major flooding, and rural fishing communities along the Pacific coast around Laguna San Ignacio, where several homes were destroyed. 100% of donations to the Baja California Disaster Relief Fund will support groups aiding hurricane victims.
- Inland Empire Disaster Relief Fund – Riverside County
- Inland Empire Disaster Relief Fund – San Bernardino County
All aid is being provided on a completely nonsectarian basis to those most in need.
