Supporting LGBTQIA+ Communities in San Diego and Jerusalem
This last Shabbat of Pride Month, we are happy to highlight some of the organizations we’ve worked with supporting the LGBTQIA+ communities in San Diego and Jerusalem. We love to see them supported them year-round!
The North County LGBTQ Resource Center offers individual and group counseling, immigration support, housing support, HIV prevention and care, and trans legal advocacy.
San Diego Black LGBTQ Coalition pursues social, political, and economic advancement for Black LGBTQ people locally. They also offer academic scholarships and emergency aid.
TransFamily Support Services guides transgender & nonbinary youth and their families through the gender transitioning process. They provide social and legal services to families at no fee, as well as educational training for teachers, medical professionals, and workplace employees.
Jerusalem Open House is a grassroots, activist organization of LGBT+ individuals and their allies. It provides humanitarian services for the LGBT+ community in Jerusalem and advocates for LGBT+ rights in Israeli society.
Havruta works to build a strong and united religious LGBTQ+ community in Israel. The organization also promotes inclusive and accepting discourse within broader Israeli religious society. They have launched the Jerusalem Pride Library, an online catalog of over 700 books related to LGBTQ+ topics, which is a unique resource in Israel.
San Diego Pride hosts annual Pride festivities, gives to LGBTQ-serving nonprofits, and runs multiple year-round education, advocacy, and community service programs.
PFLAG San Diego creates a caring, just, and affirming world for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them. They offer family support groups, educational training, and scholarships.
The San Diego LGBT Community Center provides housing, mental health, sexual health, and workplace training services.
